I suspect the problem is that your parser has read ahead in order to attempt to resolve an ambiguity, and when it's restarted it picks up with that token rather than reading a fresh one. If you're using yacc, then the special "error" production can sometimes be used to consume tokens in an attempt to get the parser into a consistent state. Vern
